Today’s prompt was to write about someone who inspires me. Of course, my best friends and family immediately came to mind- most of the people I surround myself with inspire me daily. But there are some people whose attitudes and perspectives keep me motivated when I need that little extra push…
Susan is the author of the book Quiet. Hers was the first book I ever came across that was about embracing introversion rather than “fixing” it. She really inspires me because she totally changed the way I see myself and my personality traits. She’s really helped me to accept who I am.
I came across Alan Watts one day when one of his speeches was being played over a video I was watching and everything he said really resonated with me. He was a British philosopher and often referred to as the “Western Buddhist”. There are tonnes of his speeches online and I would really recommend having a little listen.
I watched one of Carys’ Youtube videos about weightlifting when I was first getting into working out and o.m.g. her body is unreal. I’ve followed along on her journey since and seeing her progress and growth is so motivating to me. It’s obvious that so much hard work and dedication has gone into her getting where she is now. Find her Youtube channel here.
Again when I was first getting into health and fitness, I came across fellow Scottish blogger Stefanie and have been following her since. She definitely knows her stuff and her blog has helped me immensely. She has inspired me to try being vegan for the whole of this month. Check out her blog (here) if you’re into health and all that kinda stuff.
Budget Girl Jen
My first ever blogger friend, who I actually met through Instagram (lol). She’s a woman of many talents and so driven towards her goals which inspires me A LOT. She’s super encouraging and kind to everyone she encounters and I’m happy to have such a positive influence in my life. Have a read of her blog here for some fab travel and money saving tips.
The first time I ever heard of Eckhart was when I read his book The Power of Now. That book really changed the way I look at everything, particularly life problems. I’ve since become addicted to his podcasts and videos, and I’m constantly learning from his perspective on life.
My friend Vivian
I met Vivian when travelling in Toronto last year and she has since become one of my best friends. Her outlook on life is unlike anyone I’ve ever met before. She is just so positive all the time and such a free spirit. She’s always doing random kind things purely to make other people feel good. She emanates good vibes and I aspire to be more like her.
